Yes — no account, no paywall, no limit on how many sitemaps you analyze. Everything runs in your browser; the server only proxies the fetch to bypass CORS restrictions.
No. The server-side fetch is a one-time proxy request — it is not logged or stored. All parsing, scoring, and rendering happen client-side in your browser and disappear when you close the tab.
Per Google's own documentation, each URL must list every language/region alternate including itself, every alternate must link back to the page that references it (return links), and codes must be ISO 639-1 (optionally with an ISO 3166-1 region, e.g. "en-GB") or "x-default". A region code alone, like "US", is not valid. This tool checks all of these automatically.
Because Google has confirmed it ignores both fields for ranking purposes. This tool still surfaces them as a minor "IA hygiene" signal — useful for your own internal crawl-priority clarity — but doesn't inflate your score for having them.
